SACRED Receives $30,000 Grant from Sky Ranch Foundation to Support Sexually Abused Children

Why You Should
Support SACRED
Child sexual abuse can linger not just in the form of trauma, but in financial crises. Above all, we want to instill hope for both personal and familial rebuilding.
We help reduce financial burdens for families whose children have experienced sexual abuse. Our goal is to eventually remove the fear of financial repercussions as a barrier to reporting child sexual abuse.
Reaching a greater number of families is a further goal, which we intend to accomplish by working with more Child Advocacy Centers. Currently, we receive applications from 29 CACs across 11 states. This accounts for just 3.1% of all CACs.

What Your Donations Fund
SACRED’s funding covers housing, relocation, utilities, food, clothing, and even pets that can serve as crucial emotional support animals. We are the only organization that provides such fast financial relief to families. By contrast, state assistance can take anywhere from 30 to 90 days to reach families.
For 30 days or more, SACRED removes the financial burden on affected families, letting advocates guide them toward a fresh start. Your nonprofit donation directly improves families’ ability to devote time to their child.
A Legacy of Support. A Future of Hope.
Since our founding in 2009, SACRED has disbursed over $1.29 million in direct assistance, supporting 581 applications and positively impacting 546 families and 1,465 children. As needs continue to grow, so does our support. During 2025, our average grant awarded has risen to $4,054, reflecting the increasing urgency and depth of the challenges families impacted by child sexual abuse face.
Bridging the Gap: National Partnerships, Local Healing
SACRED has partnered with more than 50 Child Advocacy Centers (CACs) across 20 states and Washington, D.C., providing critical financial assistance to the children and families they serve. With approximately 961 CACs operating in the United States as of 2024, we currently reach just over 5%—a number we are determined to grow. We remain committed to helping more families in crisis, and any accredited Child Advocacy Center in the U.S. may apply for assistance on behalf of the children and families they support.
The Story Behind SACRED
Our founder’s six-year-old granddaughter Sarah reported to her mother that her father was sexually abusing her in June 2006. Her bravery gave her mother the courage to go to the police, which resulted in Sarah’s father being sentenced to a minimum 12-year prison sentence.
With Sarah’s physical nightmare over, a new nightmare began for their family. It’s impossible to grasp the effects of a crime until your family is affected. Financial difficulties caused a mother of four young children to sell her house, car, and possessions. They moved to a new community for a fresh start.
Family, friends, and business associates’ generous gifts ensured financial for Sarah’s family. Sadly, many victims and their families do not have the same level of support.
This crisis highlighted the inadequate support for families healing from child sexual abuse. Some families may not report abuse if the abuser is a financial provider, fearing the loss of income and jeopardizing their survival. When families report child sexual abuse, they may face the loss of income, health benefits, transportation, and other financial assistance from the abuser.
SACRED was founded to provide financial aid to families within a day of application approval. Affected families need all the help they can get when rebuilding their lives. Our organization depends on nonprofit donation efforts to help make this possible.
