Carol D'Attoma

Co-Founder, Co-Chair & Executive Vice President

Carol D’Attoma has dedicated her professional life to education, with a focus on special education. She has taught in both public and private high schools, as well as community colleges, and has worked extensively with disadvantaged and incarcerated youth. Carol also served as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) caseworker in both Ohio and Kansas. She holds a Master of Science in Education (MSE) in Special Education from Central Missouri State University.

Her awareness of child abuse deepened through her experiences in education, but it became devastatingly personal in 2006 when her six-year-old granddaughter was sexually abused by her own father. Witnessing the emotional and financial toll on her daughter and grandchildren, Carol and her husband John committed themselves to supporting other families facing similar trauma. This led to the founding of SACRED.
